Prepare a readable signature image for an upload

An online application may request a separate signature image with a wide, short shape and a small file-size limit. This signature resizer prepares an existing image; it does not draw a signature or check its authenticity. Choose a clear JPG, PNG or WebP file of up to 20 MB. The signature remains on your device while the browser creates a resized copy.

Enter the width and height required by the form. The initial 300 by 80 pixel setting is an editable example, not an official standard. Fit whole image keeps the complete signature and adds white padding if necessary. Center crop can cut off a first letter, long stroke or flourish, so compare the original and prepared previews closely. If your photo includes a large area around the signature, crop that area in an image editor first.

Choose the accepted output format and copy the minimum and maximum KB limits from your application. For example, a form allowing a signature up to 20 KB would use 20 as the maximum; leave the minimum at zero if no minimum is specified. Prepare & check measures the format, dimensions and file size of the generated file. A passing result covers only those entered requirements, not background color, ink color or identity checks.

Small handwriting can lose clarity when reduced. Examine thin lines and the ends of strokes before downloading. JPG can help reduce file size, while PNG may keep hard edges cleaner but exceed a tight limit. The tool will report an unmet size target instead of pretending it succeeded. It does not inflate an undersized file with padding. Keep your original image and review the downloaded copy at its actual size before using it on an application.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make a signature under 20 KB?

Enter 20 as the maximum size and your required dimensions. The result depends on the source; the checklist shows the actual size.

Does this create an electronic or digital signature?

No. It resizes a picture of a signature. It does not sign a PDF or create a cryptographic signature.

Why is there white space around the result?

Fit whole image adds padding to preserve the complete image inside the requested dimensions.

Can other users see my signature?

The tool does not upload it. The source and prepared image stay in your browser and downloads.
